Feeding feral hogs, coyotes, and stray animals is prohibited in Frisco. Bird feeders and squirrel feeding are permitted but must not create nuisance conditions.
Frisco Code of Ordinances Chapter 14 (Animals) prohibits feeding or intentionally attracting wildlife species classified as nuisance or dangerous, including feral hogs, coyotes, and stray dogs and cats. Frisco's rapid suburban growth into former ranchland along the Collin/Denton line has created persistent coyote corridors along Stewart Creek and Panther Creek, and Frisco Animal Services (972-292-6345) actively responds to feeding-related sightings. TX Health & Safety Code Β§822 (Dangerous Dogs Act) and TX Parks & Wildlife Code Β§43 permit local enforcement against wildlife feeding that creates a public health risk. Intentionally leaving pet food outdoors that attracts coyotes or raccoons can be treated as a nuisance under Frisco Code. Bird feeders and squirrel feeders are permitted, but feeders that spill seed, attract rodents, or draw flocks creating neighbor nuisance may be ordered removed. Composting and unsecured trash can also trigger warnings from Frisco Code Enforcement as indirect feeding.
Class C misdemeanor up to $500 per day for intentional wildlife feeding. Nuisance abatement order may require removal of feeders or securing of food sources.
