Babylon enforces the 2020 NY Residential Code Appendix G (R326) for residential pool barriers. Gates must open outward away from the pool, latch at 54 inches minimum, and be self-closing. Chain link spacing cannot exceed 1.75 inches. All doors from the home leading directly to the pool area require alarms. Above-ground pools with removable ladders locked up when not in use may serve as the barrier if over 4 feet tall.
