Denver bans ALL fireworks, including consumer-grade sparklers and fountains. DRMC Β§39-4 imposes fines up to $999 per violation. The ban applies year-round.
Under DRMC Chapter 39, the City and County of Denver prohibits all fireworks within city limits without exception. This includes consumer fireworks that are legal under Colorado state law (sparklers, fountains, ground spinners) as well as aerial and explosive devices. The Denver Fire Department enforces the ban. Violations are reported via 911 for active situations or 311 for non-emergency reports. The $999 fine applies per violation. Denver's ban is stricter than state law, which permits certain 'permissible' fireworks under C.R.S. Β§12-28-101 β Denver's home rule authority overrides state permissiveness.
Fines up to $999 per violation. Repeat or egregious violations can result in criminal charges.
