Nevada is a shall-issue state requiring a permit to carry concealed firearms, with sheriff-issued CCW permits valid for five years subject to training requirements.
NRS 202.3657 requires applicants to be at least 21, complete an approved firearms safety course, and pass a background check. County sheriffs must issue permits to qualified applicants. Permits are valid for five years and recognized statewide. Concealed carry is prohibited in schools, childcare facilities, public airports, and certain government buildings under NRS 202.265. Nevada honors concealed carry permits from states with substantially similar requirements as published by the Department of Public Safety.
Carrying a concealed firearm without a permit is a category C felony punishable by 1-5 years imprisonment and fines up to $10,000 under NRS 202.350.
