Backyard recreational fires in North Las Vegas are governed by NLVMC Title 8 (Fire Protection) and Clark County Department of Environmental Services air quality rules. Propane and natural gas fire pits, fire tables, and outdoor fireplaces are permitted and strongly preferred because they generate minimal particulate matter and pose less wildfire risk. Wood-burning fires are allowed only in permanent, manufactured fire pits or chimineas meeting UL or similar standards, using clean seasoned cordwood as the only fuel.
