All consumer fireworks are illegal year-round in North Las Vegas under NLVMC Title 8 and Clark County Code 15. Even Safe and Sane fireworks from rural Nevada are banned. Enforcement is aggressive around July 4.
North Las Vegas bans all consumer fireworks within city limits under NLVMC Title 8 (Fire Protection) in coordination with Clark County Code Title 15. This includes sparklers, fountains, Roman candles, bottle rockets, aerial shells, mortars, and any product labeled Safe and Sane that might be legal in rural Nevada counties like Nye or Lincoln. Only licensed public displays by certified pyrotechnicians are allowed, and those require a permit from the North Las Vegas Fire Department under NRS 477.190. Fireworks possession, sale, and discharge are all prohibited. The Clark County fire authorities run the You Light It, We Write It enforcement campaign each summer with a tip line and social media reporting. Drone surveillance, helicopter patrols, and neighbor reports feed citations. Dry desert conditions and proximity to the wildland-urban interface around the Sheep Range make illegal fireworks a significant wildfire risk. Brush fires started by illegal fireworks have caused multiple NLV structure losses in recent years.
Discharge or possession: misdemeanor, fines up to 1,000 dollars plus restitution for fire damage. Sale of fireworks: possible felony. Starting a wildfire: felony arson plus full restitution for firefighting and property losses.
