North Las Vegas, NV Fire Regulations: Propane Storage (2026)

Chapter 15.92, the North Las Vegas Fire Code, adopts the International Fire Code by reference and layers on a local Permit and Service Fee Schedule at § 15.92.070. Subsection C lists the permit categories "that represent the most common activities requiring a permit," cross-referencing the IFC's own permit list at Section 105.6; LP-gas storage and use is listed against Subsection 105.6.27 in that table, alongside categories like aerosol products, aviation facilities and combustible dust operations. Subsection A sets the fees: an annual permit runs $80.00 per category and a temporary permit runs $100.00 per category.

Miss the 60-day window to renew an annual permit and the City adds another $80.00 per category; fail to obtain a required temporary permit before starting work and it's another $100.00 per required permit. Reinspections are free the first two times a violation is found during a permit inspection, but the third and later reinspections cost $80.00 each. The schedule exempts federal, state and local government entities from permit and plan-check fees, but not nonprofits. Because the fee table cross-references the IFC rather than restating gallon-by-gallon storage limits, the actual tank-size, setback and installation standards for residential LP-gas containers come from the adopted 2024 International Fire Code and its Southern Nevada Amendments themselves, enforced by the Fire Code Official, the Fire Chief or designee, under § 15.92.030.
