All consumer fireworks are illegal in Henderson and Clark County year-round under HMC Title 6 and CCC 15. Safe and sane fireworks legal in rural Nevada are banned here. Fines up to 10,000 dollars.
Henderson prohibits the sale, possession, and discharge of all consumer fireworks within city limits under HMC Title 6 (Fire Prevention) and by extension Clark County Code Chapter 15. Unlike Nevada rural counties where NRS 477 allows safe and sane fireworks (fountains, sparklers labeled Safe and Sane) during limited seasons, Clark County incorporated cities including Henderson, Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, and Boulder City ban all consumer-grade fireworks year-round. This includes bottle rockets, firecrackers, Roman candles, mortars, aerial shells, and sparklers. Only licensed professional pyrotechnic displays approved by Henderson Fire Marshal are permitted. The ban is driven by extreme wildfire risk in Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area, McCullough Mountains, and Black Mountain foothills, where summer temperatures exceed 115 degrees and vegetation becomes tinder-dry. July 4th and New Years Eve see heavy enforcement with increased patrols, drone spotting, and a You Light It We Write It tip line. Even possession without discharge is illegal.
Discharge or possession: misdemeanor, fines up to 10,000 dollars plus restitution for any fire damage caused. Selling fireworks: felony charges possible. Starting wildfire: felony arson with restitution.
