North Las Vegas allows street parking on most public streets but prohibits parking longer than 72 hours in one location under NLVMC Title 10. Street sweeping signs and red curbs override general permission.
North Las Vegas Municipal Code Title 10 (Vehicles and Traffic) governs on-street parking citywide. The 72-hour rule is the central restriction: any vehicle, including operable passenger cars, parked in the same location on a public street for more than 72 consecutive hours may be tagged and towed at the owner expense under NLVMC and Nevada NRS 484B. Posted street sweeping schedules in residential neighborhoods such as Aliante, Eldorado, and the Cheyenne corridor must be observed; ticketed vehicles also block sweeping crews. Red curbs designate fire lanes with no stopping, yellow curbs are loading zones, and white curbs are short-term passenger loading. Parking within 15 feet of a fire hydrant, 20 feet of a crosswalk, or 30 feet of a stop sign is prohibited under NRS 484B.450. Blocking driveways, parking on sidewalks, and parking facing the wrong way against traffic flow are all citable. Most North Las Vegas residential streets are not metered, but downtown and government center areas may have time-limit signage.
Parking citations vary by violation. The 72-hour violation typically results in a tag warning, then tow if not moved. Fire hydrant and red curb violations carry higher fines and immediate tow eligibility.
