Euless, TX Home Business: Home Occupation Permits (2026)

Euless Code of Ordinances Chapter 82 defines a home occupation as an accessory activity customarily incidental and subordinate to the principal residential use. Permitted home occupations must be conducted entirely within the principal dwelling (not a detached garage or accessory structure in most cases), occupy no more than 25 percent of the floor area, and employ only residents of the dwelling. No stock-in-trade, materials, or equipment may be stored outside. Signage is limited and must be non-illuminated. Prohibited uses include auto repair, commercial kennels, medical or dental offices with patient traffic, barber/beauty shops beyond one chair, welding, and manufacturing. Deliveries are restricted to those normal to a residence (UPS, FedEx, USPS). Customer traffic must not create parking or noise impacts. Texas Local Government Code 250.008 prohibits cities from banning licensed cottage food operations, and Texas Tax Code 151.0565 covers occasional sales. Home-based businesses must still obtain any state professional licenses (cosmetology, contractor, CPA, etc.) and a Texas Sales and Use Tax permit if selling taxable goods.
