Euless defines abandoned vehicles under Texas Transportation Code Chapter 683 and the city nuisance code; inoperable or unregistered vehicles left on private property in view, or on streets over 48 hours, may be towed.
Euless handles abandoned vehicles under Texas Transportation Code Chapter 683 and Chapter 58 (Nuisances) of the city code. A vehicle is presumed abandoned if it is inoperable, has flat tires, missing parts, or expired registration over 60 days, and is in public view on private property, or if it is left on a public street in the same location for more than 48 hours. Residents who discover a likely abandoned vehicle can report it to Euless Police non-emergency at 817-685-1526 or Code Enforcement at 817-685-1400. Officers attach a warning sticker giving the owner a short compliance window (typically 72 hours for streets, 10 days for private property) before the vehicle is towed to a licensed vehicle storage facility. Owners may cure a citation by registering and inspecting the vehicle, moving it into an enclosed garage, or removing it entirely. Storing more than one inoperable vehicle on a residential property, even behind a fence, may still constitute a junked-vehicle nuisance. Owners pay towing and daily storage fees before release.
