Ocoee Land Development Code ยง5-4 allows home occupations as accessory uses in residential districts with a Business Tax Receipt. No external evidence of business, no non-resident employees, and no signage visible from the street are permitted.
Ocoee home occupations must be clearly incidental to residential use. The business must occupy no more than 25 percent of the dwelling floor area and cannot alter the residential character of the structure. No on-premises customer traffic is allowed except by appointment, no outdoor storage of materials, and no commercial vehicles larger than 1-ton may be parked on site. Business Tax Receipts are renewed annually through Ocoee City Hall. Violations start with warning and escalate to Code Enforcement Board hearings.
Operating without a Business Tax Receipt: up to 250 dollars per day. Zoning violations cited by Code Enforcement with fines up to 500 dollars per day per Code ยง1-12.
