Home occupation signage is prohibited in residential zones countywide. Ordinance Code Chapter 656 bars any exterior sign or display advertising a home-based business.
Duval-Jacksonville home occupation standards explicitly prohibit exterior advertising of any kind. No sign, nameplate, window display, or illuminated feature indicating the business may be visible from outside the dwelling. Vehicles with business lettering must be parked in an enclosed garage or be the primary residential vehicle (not lettered commercial trucks). Mailbox identifiers for the resident are allowed.
Sign violation: notice from Municipal Code Compliance, fines $100-$250 per day via Special Magistrate until removed.
