Under Irving Chapter 22, the use of loudspeakers, amplifiers, or other devices that project sound in a manner that disturbs the peace, quiet, and comfort of neighboring residents constitutes a violation. The playing of radios, televisions, musical instruments, and similar devices at volumes that are unreasonably loud is specifically prohibited. Between 10 PM and 7 AM, yelling, shouting, whistling, or singing in residential areas is prohibited. Special event permits under Chapter 33B may authorize amplified music for approved events. Commercial establishments producing amplified music must comply with the zone-specific decibel standards in Table 22-1.
