Unincorporated San Benito County does not publish a dedicated residential commercial-vehicle parking ban. The County applies Chapter 17.02 and the California Vehicle Code on public roads, and treats commercial-equipment storage in residential front yards under the zoning code's outdoor-storage rule (Sec. 25.07.015).
San Benito County's published code does not contain a stand-alone ordinance restricting where commercial trucks or trailers may park in residential neighborhoods, the way larger cities do. On public roads, commercial vehicles are subject to the same Chapter 17.02 controls as other vehicles: Section 17.02.004 allows the Sheriff to remove any vehicle left over 72 consecutive hours or otherwise in violation of Sections 17.02.001 through 17.02.003, and California Vehicle Code Section 22651 supplies further state removal authority. Where commercial equipment, trucks or materials are stored on a residential lot, Section 25.07.015 (Outdoor Storage and Display) prohibits outdoor storage in any front or street-side yard and requires screening consistent with the County's fence and wall standards. Off-street parking for commercial and industrial uses, including loading, is governed by Chapter 25.31 (Parking Regulations) and Section 25.31.002 (Parking Space Requirements). Because the County relies on these general provisions rather than a specific residential commercial-vehicle ban, owners should confirm zoning-district limits with the Resource Management Agency before storing a commercial vehicle on a residential parcel.
Commercial vehicles on public roads are removable under Sec. 17.02.004 and California Vehicle Code 22651; commercial storage in a residential front/street-side yard is a zoning violation under Sec. 25.07.015 enforced by Code Enforcement.
