Rogers limits heavy commercial vehicles on residential streets through Section 52-122, which prohibits parking any truck, tractor, or trailer of three-quarter-ton-or-larger capacity on any street between 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. The same provision bars using a street to repair or recondition such a vehicle, except in an emergency. Daytime curbside parking by large trucks is still subject to general traffic rules.
The City of Rogers addresses commercial and heavy vehicle parking primarily through Section 52-122 of its Code of Ordinances (Chapter 52, Traffic and Vehicles). That section provides that no person shall park a truck, tractor, or trailer with a capacity of three-quarter ton or larger on any street between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.; nor shall any person use any street for the purpose of repairing or reconditioning any such truck, trailer, or common carrier, except when such repairs are necessitated by an emergency. This effectively keeps semi-trucks, large box trucks, and big work trailers off public streets overnight. Commercial vehicles must also follow the general Arkansas rules of the road for stopping, standing, and parking (A.C.A. 27-51-1301 and 27-51-1302), including the 18-inch curb rule and the prohibitions on blocking driveways, crosswalks, and fire hydrants. The city does not publish a separate weight-class permit scheme for ordinary curbside loading; posted loading zones are governed by the $5-$25 fine provision. Operators should park large commercial units in commercial or industrial areas or on private lots overnight. Confirm exact section numbers after the city's 2025-2026 recodification.
Parking a three-quarter-ton-or-larger truck, tractor, or trailer on any street between 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m., or repairing such a vehicle on the street outside of an emergency, violates Section 52-122. Blocking driveways, crosswalks, or hydrants violates A.C.A. 27-51-1302. Violations can result in citations and possible towing.
