Solano County, CA Parking Rules: Loading Zones (2026)

The unincorporated County does not maintain posted on-street loading zones the way an incorporated city's downtown does, and there is no loading-zone chapter in the Solano County Code. On-street loading is therefore governed by the California Vehicle Code. Under Vehicle Code Section 21458, curb colors set by local authorities carry standard meanings: yellow indicates stopping only to load or unload passengers or freight for the time specified by local ordinance, and white indicates stopping only to load or unload passengers (or to deposit mail) for the specified time. Red curbs prohibit all stopping, standing, or parking. Where the County addresses loading at all, it is on the private-property side through the Zoning Ordinance: commercial, industrial, public-stable, and event uses must provide on-site loading, turn-around, and ingress/egress designed to avoid traffic congestion as a condition of their use permits (Chapter 28). For example, public stables and horse-show uses must provide on-site parking, loading, and vehicular turn-around space. Because there is no County loading-zone ordinance, enforcement of any painted curb loading restriction on a County road relies on the Vehicle Code and any local resolution authorizing the marking under Section 22507.
