Nueces County can't zone, so oversized-vehicle limits come from your city. Corpus Christi bans commercial vehicles, trailers, tractors and any vehicle over two tons gross weight from the Packery Channel area lots without a permit, and bars detached trailers on streets.
Unincorporated Nueces County sets no oversized-vehicle parking rule. Corpus Christi Code § 53-177 prohibits entering, parking or operating any commercial vehicle, trailer, semitrailer, pole trailer, house trailer, farm tractor, truck-tractor, road-tractor, tow truck, or any vehicle over two tons gross weight in the Packery Channel area parking lots (Schedule X) without a special-event permit. Section 53-144 also bars parking any detached trailer or house trailer on a street. On the beaches, oversized vehicles may drive and park under Texas Open Beaches with the required beach sticker.
Parking a prohibited oversized or heavy vehicle in the Packery Channel lots, or a detached trailer on a street, draws a citation and possible tow.
