Corpus Christi prohibits leaving any vehicle parked in the same spot on a public street for more than 48 consecutive hours. Vehicles must not obstruct traffic, sidewalks, or fire hydrants per Ch. 53 Art. VI and Art. IX.
Under Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances Ch. 53, vehicles parked on public streets must be moved at least once every 48 hours. Vehicles left beyond 48 hours in a single location may be tagged and towed at the owner expense. Parking is prohibited within 15 feet of a fire hydrant, within 20 feet of a crosswalk, in front of a driveway, or in any marked no-parking zone. Art. IX (Sec. 53-260 through 53-263) prohibits placing any obstruction on a public right-of-way that prevents free passage. Oversized vehicles and trailers may face additional restrictions on narrow residential streets. The city Parking Division manages metered parking downtown. Contact Parking Division or 311 at (361) 826-2489 to report obstructions or request towing.
