South Fulton, GA Property Maintenance: Trash Bin Storage (2026)

Under South Fulton's Solid Waste Ordinance (Title 6, Chapter 2), every residential property is provided a 95-gallon roll cart for household garbage; the carts are owned by the City of South Fulton and remain with the house when occupants move. Additional carts may be leased through the residential service provider with payment on file. The ordinance (Sec. 6-2014) directs owners to place the cart at the designated collection location no earlier than 3:30 p.m. on the day before scheduled collection and to remove it no later than the day following collection. The city's cart-placement guidance instructs residents to bag all trash (no unbagged items in the cart), keep all waste inside the cart with the lid firmly closed, set carts at the curb the night before pickup, point the wheels toward the home, and keep the cart at least 3 feet from all objects including cars, trees, and mailboxes. The Solid Waste Ordinance also prohibits setting fire to a cart's contents, scattering contents, vandalizing or destroying a container, and depositing burning or smoldering material in any container.
