Stafford residents must use the GFL-provided carts and place containers at the curb by 7 a.m. on collection days under Chapter 74 of the city code.
Effective January 1, 2024, Stafford contracts exclusively with GFL Environmental for solid waste service. Chapter 74 of the Code of Ordinances governs container use and set-out. Residents receive city-issued carts for trash and recycling and must place them curbside no later than 7 a.m. on the scheduled collection day. Collection runs between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. Carts must be returned to a screened storage location by the end of the collection day and may not be stored where visible from the street.
Improper container storage or early/late set-out can result in code enforcement warnings followed by citations under the property maintenance provisions.
