Woodbury, MN Property Maintenance: Trash Bin Storage (2026)

Under Woodbury's property maintenance standards, refuse/waste and recycling containers must be screened from view between collections. The city's Code Enforcement materials state that, except for the day of collection, these containers must be located indoors or be fully hidden behind a solid fence or wall no less than five feet in height, so they are not visible from adjoining properties and all rights-of-way. The same screening rule applies to other exterior materials and equipment, which must be stored indoors or hidden behind that five-foot screen. Properties must also be kept free of refuse and waste; all waste material, debris, refuse, recycling, yard waste, or garbage must be properly contained. For set-out, the city allows trash, recycling, and yard waste containers to be placed at the curb after 6 p.m. the day prior to pickup (an earlier Code Enforcement brochure referenced 4 p.m., but the city's current Common Code Violations page states 6 p.m.).
