Ocoee requires a Business Tax Receipt for STR operation. FL Β§509.032 (as amended by SB 280, 2024) allows cities to require local STR registration alongside DBPR licensure.
Under SB 280, Ocoee may operate a local STR registry and charge reasonable registration fees. Operators must supply proof of DBPR Vacation Rental license, Orange County TDT account, responsible party contact, and parking plan. Registration is separate from the annual Business Tax Receipt. Failure to register or renew can result in suspension and fines. The state provides a grievance process for denied registrations.
Operating without local registration: fines up to 500 dollars per occurrence under FL Β§509.032(7)(b)(5).
