Euless, TX Sign Regulations: Garage Sale Signs (2026)

Euless garage sale sign rules are intended to prevent neighborhood clutter from abandoned signs and to protect traffic safety on public rights-of-way. Sale signs may be placed on the seller's own property during the permitted sale days covered by a garage sale permit, typically no more than two days before and throughout the event. Sign size in residential zones is limited to 4 to 6 square feet per sign on private property, and signs must be removed within 24 hours of the sale ending. Signs placed in the public right-of-way, including medians, parkways between sidewalk and street, traffic islands, and the utility easement strip along roadways, are prohibited regardless of content and may be removed by Public Works or Code Compliance without notice. Texas Transportation Code 393 and Euless code both prohibit attaching signs to utility poles, street sign posts, traffic signals, stop signs, and other traffic control infrastructure. Signs nailed, stapled, or taped to utility poles are an electrical safety hazard and are actively removed by utility companies. Directional signs leading to a sale that are placed at intersections must be on private property with the owner's permission, not in the right-of-way. Chronic violators who place signs throughout neighborhoods can face citations. Repeat offenders sometimes see signs returned to them with warnings; continued violations lead to municipal court citations.
