Euless, TX Sign Regulations: Holiday Displays (2026)

Euless takes a generally permissive approach to residential holiday displays, recognizing their temporary nature and tradition. No permit is required for typical Christmas lights, Halloween decorations, Thanksgiving displays, or other seasonal ornamentation on private residential property. Decorations may include string lights, inflatable figures, yard signs, wreaths, and animated displays. The city does not regulate the holidays or content of displays but applies neutral general standards: displays cannot extend into the public right-of-way, cannot block sidewalks or driveways used by neighbors, cannot create traffic sight-line hazards at intersections or driveways, and cannot produce noise that violates the Chapter 46 noise nuisance standard.

Animated or musical displays with amplified sound are subject to the 8 PM to 7 AM restriction in the Euless noise ordinance. Lighting displays should not cause glare onto adjacent properties that unreasonably interferes with neighbors' enjoyment of their homes. Traffic attractor displays that draw substantial vehicle traffic to view can create parking and safety issues; very elaborate displays may require coordination with Public Works and police if anticipated crowds could block streets. HOAs often impose their own decoration rules including installation and removal dates.

Typically, the city expects holiday displays to be removed within 30 days after the holiday; persistent year-round displays may fall under general property maintenance enforcement if they become dilapidated. Commercial holiday signage follows standard sign code rules.
