Electrical connections for above-ground pool pumps and filters require GFCI protection and must be installed by a licensed electrician or inspected under a building permit. Above-ground pools in HOA communities may face additional architectural review requirements regarding visibility and placement.
Installing an above-ground pool without required barriers can result in code violations and fines up to $500 per day. Pools not meeting electrical safety standards may be ordered disconnected until corrections are made.
