DeKalb Sanitation offers scheduled bulky-item and white-goods pickup by appointment. Appliances require refrigerant removal tag. Construction debris and hazardous waste excluded.
DeKalb County Sanitation customers can schedule bulky-item pickup (furniture, mattresses, non-refrigerated appliances) through the Sanitation Division by phone or online. White goods with refrigerant (refrigerators, freezers, AC units) require a certified refrigerant-recovery tag before pickup. Tires (up to 4 per year), electronics, paint, batteries, and hazardous household chemicals are excluded and must be taken to the DeKalb Sanitation Seminole Road Landfill's resident drop-off or the Central Transfer Station. Construction debris from homeowner DIY projects is not part of routine bulky service and generally requires a private hauler or dumpster.
Illegal dumping under O.C.G.A. Β§16-7-51: $500 to $10,000 plus possible misdemeanor charge. Placing bulk items out before scheduled date: $50 to $250 blight citation.
