Stonecrest, GA Trash & Recycling: Bulk Item Disposal (2026)

Stonecrest Code Sec. 22-28(2) sets the size and weight limits that govern bulk yard debris left for County pickup. Tree branches and heavy brush too large for a regular container must be cut into lengths not exceeding four feet and stacked in a compact pile on the parkway in front of the residence, adjoining the curb but never extending into the street itself. Sticks, hedge clippings and small brush have to be gathered into bundles that are tied securely, with each bundle capped at four feet in length and 50 pounds in weight.

DeKalb County draws a hard line past that: it will not collect logs and limbs over four inches in diameter or over four feet long, meaning larger tree debris has to be cut down further or hauled away another way. Subsection (9) covers big household items separately: inoperative, privately used or worn-out appliances such as refrigerators, stoves, washing machines and dryers, along with discarded furniture, are picked up at the curb on an on-call basis to the sanitation department rather than on the regular twice-weekly schedule, so a resident has to request that pickup instead of just setting the item out.
