Stonecrest, GA Parking Rules: Commercial & Oversized Vehicles (2026)

Section 6.1.3(B)(8) of the Stonecrest Zoning Ordinance states flatly that 'the parking of business vehicles on private property located within residential zoning districts is prohibited.' The subsection then lists what the ban does not reach: typical passenger vehicles, 'with or without logos,' including automobiles, pickup trucks, passenger vans, and dually trucks; vehicles actively engaged in farming, construction, or contractor services on that private property, or vehicles temporarily parked for 12 hours or less while loading or unloading in a residential district; and vehicles parked on residentially zoned property that is itself being used for an authorized nonresidential use, such as a church.

A closing sentence exempts law-enforcement vehicles from the whole subsection outright. Read together, the rule targets heavy or clearly commercial equipment, tow trucks, box trucks, and similar business vehicles, parked long-term in a residential yard or driveway, while leaving a homeowner's own pickup or van, even a logoed one, untouched. This sits inside the broader off-street parking article, which also requires every non-single-family development permit application to include a parking plan under Sec. 6.1.3(A) and applies separate landscaping and dimensional standards under Table 6.1 to nonresidential parking lots.
