Stonecrest, GA Parking Rules: RV & Boat Parking (2026)

Stonecrest Code § 17-149 targets large and recreational vehicles specifically rather than folding them into the general parking rules. Subsection (a) bars parking or standing any bus, truck or other freight- or passenger-carrying vehicle over one-half-ton capacity on any public street or highway for more than one hour, day or night. Subsection (c) applies the identical one-hour cap to recreational equipment: a truck camper, camper trailer, motor home, boat, boat trailer or other recreational vehicle may not be parked or stood on any residential street or public place for longer than one hour at any time.

A separate rule in subsection (b) covers oversize commercial vehicles: no truck or bus with a body wider than eight feet or taller than ten feet may stop or stand on any street or public place unless the driver or chauffeur is actually present and in charge of it, closing off the option of leaving an oversize rig unattended even briefly. Together the three subsections mean a resident cannot use a public street, a cul-de-sac or a residential curb as long-term storage for an RV, boat or trailer; the vehicle must move within an hour, and the only way to keep a large commercial vehicle stationary longer is to keep a driver with it.

The rule applies to public streets and public places, so it does not reach a boat or RV parked on the owner's own driveway or yard, which falls instead under any applicable zoning or nuisance provisions rather than § 17-149.
