Stonecrest, GA Parking Rules: Loading Zones (2026)

Stonecrest Code § 17-144 gives the public works department authority to determine the location of passenger and freight curb loading zones and requires it to place and maintain signs identifying each zone and stating the hours during which the zone's rules apply; outside those posted hours, the loading-zone restriction does not control parking at that curb. Section 17-145 then sets the operative limits once a zone is in effect. No person may stop, stand or park a truck in a marked freight curb loading zone for any purpose other than the expeditious loading, unloading, delivery or pickup of materials, and no other vehicle may stop there to load or unload materials either.

A passenger vehicle driver may stop temporarily in a freight curb loading zone only while actually loading or unloading passengers, and only if the stop does not interfere with a materials-carrying vehicle that is waiting to enter or about to enter the zone. The two-track structure means a driver who merely wants to run into a shop cannot rely on a loading and unloading exception; the zone's protection is reserved for actual freight handling or the brief boarding and alighting of passengers, and stopping there for any other reason is treated the same as parking without authorization.

Because both sections turn on posted signage rather than a fixed citywide schedule, the applicable hours and the precise boundary of each zone vary by location and are controlled by the sign at that curb, not by a single hour range printed in the Code itself.
