Coops must sit in the rear yard, 15 feet from any neighboring dwelling, runs 3 feet off property lines, with 4 sq ft coop and 8 sq ft run per bird. Birds must be locked in dusk-to-dawn; feed stored in rodent-proof containers. TMC 6.08.060 requires a two-year permit. Larger livestock follows MCC 13.308 with 2+ acre lots.
Under TMC 6.08.070, any Chicken Code violation is subject to a civil penalty up to $1,000. The city manager may revoke a permit under TMC 6.08.060(C). Unregistered livestock is a Class C infraction under MCC 13.999, fined $30 to $150.
