California CDFW regulations prohibit many exotic species as pets. San Mateo County Zoning Ordinance requires a use permit for keeping exotic animals in residential zones (consistent with county zoning Annex Β§6315(u)). Animals designated dangerous by any jurisdiction cannot be kept in the county per Title 6.
