A minimum of 5,000 square feet per animal is required. Swine are prohibited within the city, with an exception for up to 2 potbellied pigs per location that meet specific keeping and care standards. Section 5-29 requires strict sanitary conditions: manure and droppings must be removed from pens daily, and enclosures must be maintained to prevent odors offensive to persons of ordinary sensibilities, prevent breeding of flies and mosquitoes, and avoid creating public nuisances. Exotic livestock is handled by the county sheriff's department per Section 5-28(b).
