Grand Prairie's traffic and code compliance ordinances regulate overnight parking. Chapter 25 (Traffic) and Chapter 29 (Code Compliance), Article VII address parking on public streets. Vehicles must have valid registration and inspection stickers. Inoperable vehicles β defined as wrecked, dismantled, on flat tires, with expired registration or invalid inspection β are prohibited from being parked or stored on streets and visible areas. The city does not have a blanket overnight parking ban but enforces against abandoned vehicles (not moved for 48+ hours may be tagged). Commercial vehicle overnight parking in residential areas is regulated separately.
