Grand Prairie Sec. 13-280(12) exempts normal property maintenance noise during daytime hours (6 AM-10 PM). Leaf blowers and lawn equipment must comply with daytime-only use near residential areas. Nighttime operation violates the noise ordinance.
Grand Prairie's noise ordinance (Chapter 13, Article XIII, Ord. 11192-2022) exempts sound generated by normal maintenance of property provided the activities take place during daytime hours, defined as 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM per Section 13-275. Outside these hours, leaf blowers and lawn equipment near residential areas would be subject to the maximum permissible sound levels in Section 13-283: 65 dBA Leq daytime / 58 dBA Leq nighttime for Noise Zone 1 (residential). There is no separate leaf blower ban or decibel-specific restriction for lawn equipment beyond the general noise standards.
Misdemeanor. Fine per Section 1-8 of the Code of Ordinances for public health violations. Each day of violation is a separate offense.
