West Jordan follows federal EPA Renovation Repair and Painting Rule for homes built before 1978; contractors must be lead-safe certified and provide disclosure to occupants.
The EPA RRP Rule requires lead-safe certification for any contractor disturbing more than 6 square feet of interior paint or 20 square feet of exterior paint in pre-1978 housing. The Utah Department of Environmental Quality administers the program in Utah. Landlords must provide the EPA lead disclosure pamphlet to tenants, and sellers must disclose known lead hazards to buyers.
