Orange County's Neighborhood Preservation division handles code enforcement for unincorporated areas. Reports can be filed 24/7 through the myOCeServices portal, by phone at 714-667-8853, or by email. The program is complaint-driven, with investigations only opening when the county receives a complaint.
OC Development Services' Neighborhood Preservation division enforces county codes in unincorporated Orange County. The Orange County Board of Supervisors directed in 2002 that code enforcement is response-driven β investigations only open when the county receives a public complaint. Residents can file complaints 24/7 through the myOCeServices.ocgov.com online portal, call the Neighborhood Preservation Hotline at 714-667-8853, or email the department. The division investigates: property maintenance violations, unpermitted construction, illegal land use, junk/debris accumulation, overgrown vegetation, abandoned vehicles, and violations of the Orange County Codified Ordinance. For properties within incorporated cities (Anaheim, Irvine, Santa Ana, etc.), residents must contact that city's code enforcement. Complainant identity is kept confidential to the extent permitted by law.
Violations may result in notices of violation, administrative citations ($100-$1,000), and referral to County Counsel for legal action. The county prefers voluntary compliance.
