Hillsborough County Code Chapter 42 establishes juvenile curfew for persons under 17. Sunday through Thursday 11 PM to 5 AM, Friday and Saturday midnight to 6 AM. Exceptions for employment, emergency, school events, and accompaniment by parent or guardian. Violation is civil infraction for minor and parent.
Curfew enforced countywide in unincorporated areas and most municipalities. Exceptions include interstate travel, emergency errands, First Amendment activity, work commute with employer letter, and supervised school or religious events. Law enforcement may detain and release to parent. Repeat parental violations can result in parental responsibility fines.
Minor: civil citation, community service. Parent: up to 500 dollar fine or mandatory parenting classes for repeat offenses.
