Summary
Summit County's minor's curfew bars anyone under 18 from streets and sidewalks in ten designated townships between 11:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. unless accompanied by a parent or guardian, an adult with parental permission, or heading directly to or from lawful work or activity.
No child under the age of eighteen years shall be on the streets or sidewalks of the townships of Bath, Twinsburg, Northfield Center, Franklin, Copley, Springfield, Richfield, Coventry, Boston and Sagamore Hills between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. of the following day, local time, unless: (1) He is accompanied by his parent, guardian or an adult person having the legal care, custody and control of his person; (2) He is accompanied by an adult person having the permission of one of the persons mentioned in subsection (a)(1) hereof; or (3) He is going directly to or from any lawful activity, entertainment or employment with knowledge and consent of the parent, guardian or adult person having the legal care, custody and control of his person.

Codified Ordinance Sec. 09 sets the county's minor's curfew, but it applies only in ten named townships: Bath, Twinsburg, Northfield Center, Franklin, Copley, Springfield, Richfield, Coventry, Boston and Sagamore Hills. Elsewhere in unincorporated Summit County, and inside the incorporated cities (Akron, Cuyahoga Falls, Barberton, Stow, Hudson), this section does not apply; those places set their own curfew rules if any. the following day unless accompanied by a parent, guardian or adult with legal custody; accompanied by an adult who has that parent's or guardian's permission; or traveling directly to or from lawful activity, entertainment or employment with the parent's or guardian's knowledge and consent.
The ordinance also reaches adults on both sides of the curfew: a parent, guardian or custodian who fails to keep a minor off those streets and sidewalks during curfew hours violates subsection (b), and any adult found in the company of a curfew-age minor on those streets during those hours without parental permission violates subsection (c). The three exceptions in (a) apply in parallel to the parent's duty under (b). C. Chapter 2151, the juvenile court track, rather than fined directly. 99, exposes the adult to up to 180 days in jail and a fine up to $1,000. The ordinance traces to Ord. 95-382, approved June 19, 1995, and has not been amended since in the county code.
Violations & Fines
A curfew-violating minor is taken into custody and processed through juvenile court as an unruly child under Ohio R.C. Chapter 2151, not fined under the county code. A parent, guardian or custodian who lets a minor stay out past curfew, or any adult caught accompanying a curfew-age minor without parental permission, is guilty of a first-degree misdemeanor under Sec. 539.09(d), carrying up to 180 days jail and a $1,000 fine per Sec. 501.99.
