Camden County parks are closed to loitering and parking between 10 PM and 6 AM, so this is a genuine county rule. One exception applies on North Park Drive (Route 130 to Cuthbert Boulevard), where the curfew starts at midnight. Violating the curfew carries a $100 fine.
The Regulations for the Use of Camden County Parks and Park Land, adopted by the Camden County Board of Commissioners and enforced by the Camden County Park Police, set a nightly curfew across the county park system (including Cooper River Park). Section 9 bars occupying park benches or seats, loitering on park land, or parking a vehicle there between 10 PM and 6 AM, with a later midnight start only on the North Park Drive segment from Route 130 to Cuthbert Boulevard. Dogs must also be leashed (six-foot maximum) and alcohol is prohibited except under a special-event permit.
Curfew violations are heard in municipal court with a $100 fine (Schedule of Fines, item 4-9). Parking outside park hours carries a $50 fine and the vehicle may be towed at the owner's expense. Each day is a separate offense.
