Benton County, WA Curfew Laws: Park Curfew (2026)

BCC 7.28.010 sets the general rules and regulations for all Benton County-operated parks, and subsection (o) singles out two of the county's flagship parks for a nighttime closure: "Two Rivers Park and Horn Rapids Park shall be closed from the posted hour at each park until 6:00 a.m. each and every day to all persons except those in a designated overnight parking and camping area." The closing hour itself isn't fixed in the ordinance; it is set by posted signage at each park, which the Benton County Parks and Recreation Department controls under the chapter's opening definitions in subsection (a).

The only people exempt from the curfew are campers using a designated overnight parking and camping area, a status defined in the preceding subsection (n): "No overnight parking or camping is permitted in the park except in areas designated as overnight campgrounds. A fee for overnight parking or camping must be paid in areas so designated." In other words, staying past the posted closing hour is lawful only if a visitor has paid for and is using one of those designated camping spots; everyone else, including vehicles left in a day-use lot, must leave when the park closes.

Because subsection (o) sits inside the same numbered section as the rest of the county's park-conduct rules, from vandalism to vehicle speed limits, a curfew violation is enforced and penalized exactly like those other 7.28.010 infractions rather than under a separate ordinance.
