Genesee County Parks are open, unless otherwise posted, from 8:00 a.m. until sunset, 365 days a year. It is unlawful to remain in a park when it is not posted open to public use, so overnight presence outside camping areas is prohibited.
The Genesee County Parks and Recreation Commission sets and enforces park hours across its 25 parks and roughly 11,000 acres. Under the Commission's Park Rules, Section III (Hours), no person or vehicle may remain on Commission property during hours it is not posted open. Standard hours are 8:00 a.m. to sunset unless a sign states otherwise; non-gated fishing sites may be accessible around the clock. Registered campers at designated campgrounds are the exception to the after-hours rule. Alcohol and marijuana are prohibited in all county parks, and dogs must stay on a leash no longer than six feet.
Entering or remaining in a closed park is a park-rule violation enforced by Genesee County Park Rangers; offenders can be cited or removed from the property.
