Gloucester County, NJ Curfew Laws: Park Curfew (2026)

Section 3(b) of the Gloucester County Parks Rules & Regulations sets the baseline schedule: "Park Areas shall be open to the public every day of the year during daylight hours except for Christmas and New Year's Day or as otherwise posted, for any other reason whatsoever, that may serve the public interest." The same section carves out artificially lit facilities, adding that "Closing times at the artificially illuminated fields after daylight hours shall be as posted," so a night softball game at a lit field can run past sunset only until whatever hour is posted at that specific facility.

The Gloucester County Administrator or a designee holds broad discretion beyond the standard schedule. Section 3(c) lets any Park Area, or a section of one, be closed "for unusual or unforeseen circumstances, events or emergencies, or for any other reason deemed necessary," or restricted for a special event, "at any time and for any interval of time." Section 3(d) separately allows the County to set user fees for any Park Area, which must be "clearly posted and due notice provided to the public," a detail that matters for after-hours athletic-field rentals.

Enforcement of the closing-hours rule flows through the same channel as every other Section 2 or Section 3 violation. Section 3(f) lets Parks and Recreation Department staff or authorized representatives direct anyone found in a closed Park Area after hours to leave immediately or bring in local police, and Section 3(g) exposes a convicted violator to "fines or imprisonment or both as prescribed by law for each offense," prosecuted by the County of Gloucester.
