Queen Creek Town Code Chapter 9 (Offenses), Article 9-8, governs Town property and parks, including Section 9-8-6 on hours of operation and closures. Most Town parks are open about 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.; trails are open dawn to dusk. Using a park while closed and other prohibited acts can be enforced under the code.
Park hours and closures in Queen Creek are governed by the Town Code's Chapter 9 (Offenses), Article 9-8 (Town Property; Parks and Recreation). Section 9-8-6, titled "Town Property; Hours of Operations; Closures," authorizes the Town to establish and enforce operating hours and closure times for Town property and parks, and Section 9-8-7 sets penalties (penalty; ejection; suspension; seizure) for violations. According to the Town's Parks & Recreation information, most Queen Creek parks operate from about 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., while some facilities such as skate parks and wheel-friendly plazas have extended hours of roughly 7 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., and multi-use trails are open daily from dawn to dusk. Article 9-8 also prohibits a range of activities on Town property, including swimming or wading in fountains, ponds or waterways except in designated areas, operating motor vehicles or motorized scooters off designated roadways, allowing dogs off-leash outside fenced dog parks (leashes limited to six feet), and camping except where specifically authorized. Ordinance 890-26, effective May 21, 2026, further updated Article 9-8 with rules on motorized devices in parks, hands-free device use, a 15 mph speed limit on trails and similar paths, and impound guidelines. Most violations under Article 9-8 are enforced as misdemeanors.
Being in a park or on Town property outside posted hours, or engaging in prohibited activities under Article 9-8 (off-leash dogs, unauthorized camping, swimming in non-designated water, off-road motor vehicle use), can result in penalties including ejection, suspension of privileges, and seizure under Section 9-8-7, and may be charged as a misdemeanor.
