Quiet hours in Queen Creek, AZ — also called the noise ordinance, nighttime noise rules, or residential quiet time — define the hours during which excessive noise is prohibited.
Queen Creek sets nighttime quiet hours from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. under Section 9-6-4 of the Town Code. During these hours it is unlawful to cause or allow loud, unreasonable, or excessive noise from any property you own or control, regardless of the source, unless you hold a construction permit or exclusion. A violation is a Civil Offense.
Town Code Section 9-6-4 (Nighttime Noise), part of Article 9-6 of the Queen Creek Town Code adopted by Ordinance 764-21 and amended by Ordinance 784-22, makes it unlawful for any person or entity 'to cause or allow loud, unreasonable, or excessive noise to emit from real or personal property that the person or entity owns or controls, regardless of the instrument, device, or source of the noise, between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.' The Town's own Code Compliance page summarizes this as a noise restriction in place from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., including landscape machine noise, within Town limits. The restriction does not apply if you are operating in compliance with a Nighttime and Holiday Construction Permit (NHCP) issued under Section 7-1-4-10, or if you meet an exclusion or timeframe under Section 9-3-3. Daytime noise is still regulated by other sections of Article 9-6 (such as Unnecessary Noise and Public Disturbances), so quiet hours are an added nighttime layer rather than the only noise rule. Section 9-6-10 governs Repeat Violators. Code Compliance (Neighborhood Preservation) handles complaints at (480) 358-3306; for in-progress nighttime disturbances, residents are directed to the QCPD non-emergency line.
Causing or allowing loud, unreasonable, or excessive noise from your property between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. is a Civil Offense under Section 9-6-4. Three or more same or similar violations within a three-month period make you a Repeat Violator under Section 9-6-10, after which further violations become a class 1 misdemeanor carrying a civil penalty of at least $3,000 for each violation. No citation is issued unless there are at least two complaining witnesses from separate households or locations.
