St. Clair County parks and preserves are dawn-to-dusk. Silver Creek Preserve is open all year, seven days a week, from dawn to dusk. Overnight use and after-hours entry are not allowed, and violations carry penalties under the county code.
County Park Regulations (Chapter 27) set the hours. Silver Creek Preserve "shall be open all year, seven (7) days a week, from dawn to dusk" (Sec. 27-2-1(A)). County park pages likewise list Foley Park, Engelmann Farm and the county dog park as open dawn to dusk. In Foley Park no motor vehicles may enter "except during regular hours otherwise open to the public" (Sec. 27-1-1(H)), and overnight parking is not permitted. Penalty provisions apply per Section 1-1-20 of the county code. These are county-owned park rules; municipal parks and any city curfew are governed separately by the city.
Being in a county park or preserve after dusk, or overnight parking, violates Chapter 27 and is subject to the penalty provisions in Section 1-1-20.
