Under the Yellowstone County Parkland Ordinance, county parks close to public access one-half hour after sunset and open one-half hour before sunrise. No overnight camping is allowed. Violations are a misdemeanor punishable by up to a $500 fine, six months' jail, or both.
The Yellowstone County Parkland Ordinance governs county parks including Two Moon, Zimmerman, Earl Guss and Arrow Island II. Section CO 04390-018 states: "The park areas are closed to public access and use at one-half hour after sunset nightly and opened at one-half hour before sunrise daily. In addition, no overnight camping shall be allowed in any County parkland." Exceptions require written permission from the County Board of Park Commissioners, and no county park land may be used for habitation or extended camping. Barkemeyer Park lists the same sunrise-to-sunset hours, and Pine Hill Park limits motorized use to 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Saturday with none on Sunday. The ordinance, adopted under MCA 7-16-2322, is enforced by the County Sheriff's Department.
Under CO 04390-25, violating any park rule is a misdemeanor "punishable by a fine not to exceed five hundred (500) dollars, imprisonment not to exceed six (6) months, or both fine and imprisonment," enforced by the County Sheriff's Department.
