Violations & Fines
Section 105.1.1 states that "a penalty fee shall be assessed to the owner or operator for failure to obtain a permit" before commencing an operation that Sections 105.5 or 105.6 require a permit for, which reaches a filming drone flight launched without the Special Effects/Operations permit. Section 17.04.200's Title 17 misdemeanor penalty, up to $1,000 and six months in county jail, applies on top of that fee for continued noncompliance, with each day counted separately.
