Full Breakdown

Any production filmed on a county facility, including public streets and sidewalks, needs a production permit from the Brevard County Film Commissioner, an office run through the Tourist Development Council. The application must state, item by item, the necessity for closing any public street or sidewalk and how long the closure will last, along with proof of liability insurance and a hold-harmless agreement. Once granted, the permit exempts the shoot from other county permits for that production. This covers unincorporated Brevard only, Melbourne, Titusville, Cocoa and the county's other cities issue their own filming and street-closure permits for streets inside their limits.

Violations & Fines

Producing without a permit is punishable as provided by law; noncompliance with permit terms triggers immediate suspension, and continued violation after suspension or revocation is also punishable as provided by law.
